WHAT I REALLY NEED TO SAY

It's been over a year since the last HIPP NIGHTS broadcast on KTRS. After the show was dropped, because the station needed to trim the budget, I took HIPP NIGHTS over to KFNS. That was fun...well, as much fun as I could have under their style of management. The bottom line was control. I was in control of my show at KFNS...so I took advantage of that control and, on MY TERMS, I killed the show off and stopped doing it. See, at KTRS, I was let go. Very lame...and it was quite a bummer...this was mostly a pain in the ass because I had no idea I was doing my last show before I was let go. Had I know, I would have done a fitting tribute to all the listeners and callers who had become a kind of radio family for me.

So here I am...on the doorstep of turning 31. 13 years in the broadcast industry. I'm still doing HIPP ON ENTERTAINMENT for the Frank O. Pinion Show Tuesdays & Thursdays at 4:40PM on KTRS. I also continue to host the Purnia Animal Advice Show--again, on KTRS, every Saturday morning at 9AM.

WHY DO I WANT MY TALK SHOW BACK?

Because radio has become VERY LAME at NIGHT. HIPP NIGHTS offered an escape. It was an alternative to the mind numbing BS you get from most talk radio shows. By the time people have had a full work day, dinner, and they are relaxing the LAST THING they want is a reminder of why life might not be all that great.

Does that make sense?

I think so.

I think radio--true, entertaining radio--needs to be an escape and NOT a reminder. There's already enough of that. It seems to me that almost everyone on the air now is either bitching and moaning about how bad this country sucks or they just say whatever the hell links them to a phone call guest who wants to plug their latest book.

SELL OUT!

Radio shows are so easily SOLD OUT that you never really know if you are hearing the TRUTH. Truth in radio is hard to come by...and, as a result, most shows that really try to be for their audience end up with a short run and no support from the station that airs them.

Am I bitter towards KTRS?

No. Otherwise I would not still be on 3 times a week. I love KTRS. I think that station has a lot to offer and a lot of potential. Do I wish they wouldn't have dumped HIPP NIGHTS? Gee, let me think...

Here's why I get REALLY MAD that I am not on the air right now.

JON & KATE.

THE ECONOMY.

MICHAEL JACKSON.

ROMAN POLANSKI.

LADY GA GA.

MEGAN FOX.

Jon & Kate? Good Lord. I could do a whole week on that one. These two mutants need to be the stars of HOSTEL 3. I think murder is wrong...but this isn't murder...it's more of a rescue mission. Rescue the kids and then give them all the torture devices we can find and allow them to slowly--VERY SLOWLY--hack up their parents. Have it shown live on pay per view. Since the parents will eventually DIE we will need the United States Government to play a hand in the event...and because of this we can have all the proceeds of the pay per view go towards balancing the country's budget.

That leads me to The Economy. Jon & Kate might get us a couple hundred million towards the budget...but why stop there? Why not charge people with aiding a criminal if they are caught buying Michael Jackson records? You want to thin out the population so we don't have to worry too much about people starving? Too many people and not enough jobs? NO PROBLEM--just lock up anyone buying Michael Jackson and charge them with aiding a child molester. All of the money they spend on buying the records goes towards the cost of keeping them in jail. This way we don't have our tax dollars going to help them out. They are basically paying for themselves to be locked up. This also helps us weed out the people we really don't want as Americans. Who, in their right mind--not the mind the media manipulates, would really think it's okay for people to buy products made by a creepy, 50 year old child molester? I know he's dead. But his legacy is now bigger than ever...just wait until the truth finally comes out. It might not be for another 10 years...when the pay-off money from Joe Jackson has dried up and the victims are busting for drugs at the airport...but soon...soon they will all have book deals and guest spots on Oprah.

ROMAN POLANKSI? Come on. This country gave the guy Oscars! We kissed his ass by letting his films screen here...and he has actually been CONVICTED of rape! For 31 years he has been waving it in our face and making millions. WE ARE THE IDIOTS. You know how stupid we look for waiting THIS LONG to bust him? Look at all the time it took to find and arrest a guy that keeps cranking out movies and gets to hang out with Johnny Depp and Jack Nicholson...now it doesn't seem so "off" that we can't find "bad guys" in the Middle East.

LADY GA GA and MEGAN FOX...proof that men dressed up as women can rise to heights beyond RUPAL'S DRAG RACE.

I'm not sure how often I'll update this thing. Guess I'll wait to see if people actually read it.

No matter what I promise not to give up the good fight.

I leave you with words of wisdom from Rocky Balboa:

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody!"
